醉里挑燈看劍，夢會(huì)吹角連營。八百里分麾下炙，五十弦翻塞外聲。沙場秋點(diǎn)兵。2017年10月29日晚上6點(diǎn)，一場屬于中加楓華國際學(xué)校的英語“烽煙”，在體育館內(nèi)再度燃起，“楓華杯”英語演講比賽決賽順利舉行。

這是一場英語的“練兵”，這是養(yǎng)兵千日用兵一時(shí)的歷練，這是在楓華用英語封王的榮耀時(shí)刻。

經(jīng)過初賽和復(fù)賽的激烈角逐，最后共有44位選手進(jìn)入決賽，并誕生最后的冠亞季軍。而更令孩子們心動(dòng)的，便是這不僅是“楓華杯”的英語決賽，更是為了爭取作為代表參加21世紀(jì)、新東方杯英語大賽的機(jī)會(huì)，因此賽事近乎白熱化，孩子們認(rèn)真、勢在必得的狀態(tài)，一次次將現(xiàn)場焦灼的氣氛推向頂點(diǎn)。

和之前的賽制相同，選手們根據(jù)年級的不同，需分到不同的組別，而相應(yīng)的組別比賽的內(nèi)容也不一樣。

除了每個(gè)選手都需要準(zhǔn)備1.5到2分鐘的演講外，針對小學(xué)階段的孩子，考核他們的是他們的英語小才藝，孩子們可以發(fā)揮自己的創(chuàng)意，通過歌曲、朗誦、繞口令等語言表演的形式，將他們**的一面展現(xiàn)給評委和現(xiàn)場觀摩的師生。

而初中階段的選手，更考驗(yàn)他們臨場發(fā)揮的能力，他們需要根據(jù)主題完成情景對話，或與評委對話，這不僅需要孩子能夠靈活應(yīng)變，更需要孩子善于運(yùn)用語言;

對于楓華高年級的選手而言，英語已經(jīng)融入了他們的日常學(xué)習(xí)和生活，是他們除了母語之外的第二語言，因此決賽中對高年級孩子們的考核，便更為嚴(yán)苛，選手們不僅需要利用準(zhǔn)備好的演講打動(dòng)評委和觀眾為自己贏得扎實(shí)的印象分，還必須通過即興演講或現(xiàn)場辯論的方式來戰(zhàn)勝自己的對手，同時(shí)需要接受評委的提問，這些考驗(yàn)形式讓參賽的孩子必須處變不驚，善于思考，擁有的發(fā)音，更需要孩子們將英語思維融入自己的大腦和血液中，具備縝密的邏輯，才能在大賽中運(yùn)籌帷幄征服觀眾。

學(xué)校領(lǐng)導(dǎo)對于此次“楓華杯”大賽給予了高度的關(guān)注和支持，并在現(xiàn)場為獲獎(jiǎng)選手們頒獎(jiǎng)。同時(shí)，對選手們可圈可點(diǎn)的表現(xiàn)給予了點(diǎn)評和表揚(yáng)，并提出期望，希望孩子們能走出學(xué)校，走向更寬廣的天空。

一場校內(nèi)英語比賽會(huì)有如此細(xì)致的賽制和流程，取決于楓華舉辦大型活動(dòng)的豐富經(jīng)驗(yàn)，以及對英語教學(xué)的得心應(yīng)手。賽場上年級和形式的細(xì)分，正是楓華日常教學(xué)的體現(xiàn)，我們針對孩子程度不同年紀(jì)不同的分層教學(xué)，以及雙語、EF課程、ELL課程甚至全英文教學(xué)的科學(xué)劃分，的適應(yīng)了孩子們的英語學(xué)習(xí)需求，讓每一個(gè)孩子從入學(xué)時(shí)就能順利跟上進(jìn)度，從當(dāng)下出發(fā)，搭建扎實(shí)的基礎(chǔ)、熟練運(yùn)用一直到融匯貫通，每個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)絲絲相扣。

“楓華杯”英語大賽，是楓華孩子英語掌握現(xiàn)狀的一次演練，是楓華孩子博古通今善于思辨的展示，更是楓華立足國際教育多年，對于英語教學(xué)豐富經(jīng)驗(yàn)的體現(xiàn)。

On October 29th the “Sino-Canada-Cup” English speech contest took place in the gym at 6p.m.

The speech contest is the test of how well they are learning English and the memorable moment of the students. After fierce competition of the first round and second round, only 44 students came to the finals. Moreover, we have had our champions, runners-up, second runners-up, to be more excited, it was not just an end of competition, it is the start of “21 Century New Oriental Cup” English Speech Contest held in Suzhou city. Therefore, every student studies harder as they prepare for today’s contests and the future ones. Contestants took part in the competition based on the different areas of study.

For the primary school students, besides 1.5-2minutes speech, they also had to prepare their talent show like to present their comprehension of readings, speaking, recitation, tongue twisters and so forth. For the Junior High School students, they had to start a conversation with the respectable judges based on the subject they chose. The reason for this is to test the level of understanding and their abilities to apply English in the every day standard of conversations.

For the senior High School students, English is part of their education career and life. It is their second language. High School students were required to debate with the other contestant and they also responded the questions that were asked based on their topics. Truly, it is through a calm and collected manner of thinking can one be able to think, process, and communicate in order for them to be the final winner.

Too add further, the reason why the speech contest was a success is because of our high level of experience in holding large-scale activities and having professional teachers. Bilingual teaching courses, EF courses and ELL courses fully satisfies students’ needs of different levels and develops their basic levels fluently to the advanced levels.

In all, “Sino-Canada Cup” English Speech Contest is a good chance for students to practice and demonstrate critical thinking because it truly presents the efforts of the teachers of all areas of study and the administration who work very hard to make the Sino-Canada experience the best in all of China.
