  IB課程分為標準難度課程（SL）和更具挑戰(zhàn)性的高難度課程（HL）。IB要求學(xué)生至少選六門課+Theory of Knowledge，這六門課中至少有三門是HL。除了對學(xué)生的課業(yè)要求外，選擇IB Diploma的學(xué)生還要在兩年內(nèi)完成150個小時的社會實踐活動（CAS Hours）。
